How can I be kind to myself?

How can I be kind to myself

Before you can be the best version of yourself to others, you need to learn to be kind to yourself. It is essential to take care of yourself, love yourself and accept yourself in order to live your best life. Once you can be kind to yourself, you can then be kind to others. Here are 10 easy ways: How can I be kind to myself.

How can I be kind to myself

1. Get enough sleep

If you want to start a day off well, getting enough rest will be the easiest way to go about it. You need sleep to reset. Without it you are more likely to be irritable, more hungry and less productive.

2. Start your day with gratitude

The best way to start the day is to be grateful. Smile as you wake up, take in a big breathe and appreciate that you are here. List some things you are grateful for and look forward to having a great day.

3. Be mindful using social media

I love social media when it is used in the right way. It is a fantastic tool to connect, to meet new people and to get inspired. It is really important to identify when scrolling if anything is making you feel negative. Unfollow the accounts that make you feel bad about yourself, follow the accounts that inspire you and limit your scroll time. Don’t feel bad about unfollowing someone they will completely understand if you are doing it for the right reasons.

4. Make your inner voice your best friend

Compliment yourself, look in the mirror longer identifying the things you love about yourself and just be supportive to yourself. A good rule to use is don’t say anything to yourself that you wouldn’t say to your friend.

5. Don’t let others treat you badly

It is easy to identify toxic people in your life whether they come in the form of family, friends or a nasty boss, but what is difficult is doing something about it. Distancing/detoxing yourself from these people will inevitably make you feel better. Don’t let others put you down, or make you feel bad about yourself. Use any negativity as motivation to drive you forwards and be an even better person.

6. Follow your dreams

Follow your passions, pursue the things that motivate you and do the things that make you happy. Respect yourself enough to turn your dreams into reality and live your best life.

7. Spend time alone

Time alone is essential to identify how you are feeling and how life is going for you. Time alone gives you time to enjoy your own company, build your self-love and time away to think about your goals.

8. Make time for friends

Friendships are good for your health. You should make dedicating time to friendships a priority just like you do going to work, cleaning the house and exercising.

9. Accept yourself fully

Accept yourself for exactly who you are including all your wonderful bits and all your flaws. Sometimes you will achieve lots in a day, other times you won’t, sometimes you will feel beautiful, sometimes you won’t, sometimes you will succeed and sometimes you will fail. Just keep going, accept yourself fully and love yourself throughout it all.

10. Slow down

When you are living life at a peak of stress, being busy and frantic the slightest inconvenience can send you over the edge. Slow down, make time for yourself, follow your dreams and breathe. Life is not a rush and you will enjoy every little thing so much more.

Effective ways of taking care of yourself can be to; keep a diary of every day noting down your successes, meditating to clear your mind and practicing self-care. Once you have succeeded at being kind to yourself you will find yourself naturally surrounded by wonderful, loving and positive friends. Your vibe will attract your tribe.
